Reaping the Rewards in Islam

Good Deeds Carry a Huge Reward

The performing of good deeds is such a simple thing to do for us human beings, yet, at times, many of us delay in carrying them out - even though they bring such a significantly generous reward. We often fail to realise that just a mere few minutes of our time can intensify into such a colossal benefit in both our today and Hereafter.

As it is narrated in the Holy Qur’an:

“hasten towards all that is good.”

- The Holy Qur’an (2:148)

As each and every day passes us by, we learn new things and educate ourselves on many forms of good deeds and their individual benefits; just a simple act of sharing with others or even smiling at someone can be viewed an act of generous giving and charity, as well as being a friendly and approachable encounter. It is also narrated by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that he who guides another towards a good deed will get a reward similar to the one who performs it. You see, every good deed or act we carry out will be remembered.

An act as simple as visiting the sick and unwell or helping our elderly could have such a massive impact on our standing on the Day of Judgement; such is the beautiful mercy of our Lord and Creator. Even our good intentions are greatly rewarded by Allah SWT, as all good thoughts enable us to be better versions of ourselves.

Charity

The act of sharing one’s wealth and giving to charity in Islam is mentioned with such incredible benefit in the Holy Qur’an.

Zakah, one of the obligatory Five Pillars of Islam is a form of charity. It is where all eligible Muslims are required to contribute a small percentage of their wealth in the form of profitable income to charity.

However, charity does not only exist in monetary form; any good deed in the eyes of Allah SWT is classed as a form of charity.

“Every good deed is charity. Verily, it is a good deed to meet your brother with a smiling face and to pour what is left from your bucket into the vessel of your companion.”

- Holy Prophet (PBUH)

So donate to Islamic Help today; not just by sharing part of your wealth, but also by sharing part of your time. Together, we can make a significant difference to the lives of those who are daily afflicted with suffering and poverty.
