Humankind has spent thousands of years benefiting from Earth's natural gifts. However, along the way, the nature-life balance has tilted.
Climate change affects the populations that contributed to it the least, meaning devastation to the most vulnerable individuals. It is our duty to step in and ensure this does not continue not only for the poor, but for our future generations to come.
This one-day workshop has been designed to educate and start conversations about our duties towards protecting the world we live in where we have been assigned as Khalifahs (Stewards) of the Earth.
The morning session will open with a briefing on what Islam says about climate change, its key principles on the environment and how we learn about sustainability from the lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
After lunch, we will explore campaigning and advocacy options, while focusing the rest of the afternoon session on how we can get more young Muslims involved in the campaign and producing a targets timeline for the next 12 months.
Lunch will be provided with unlimited refreshments all day. Registration for this workshop is essential.
