Islamic Help are proud to present a programme dedicated to the history and virtues of al-Madina al-Munawwara.
The blessed city of al-Madina is the final resting place of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Al-Madina warmly welcomed the Prophet (peace be upon him) after he left Makka Sharif. To this day, the fortunate inhabitants of the city are marked with unparalleled hospitality, love and warmth. A visitor to the Enlightened City instantly falls in love with it, and yearns to live there forever.
Performing Salah in the Prophet’s mosque holds extra virtue, ‘better than a thousand prayers in any other mosque’, according to the famous words of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Next to the mosque is the graveyard of Baqi, the final resting place of countless Companions and pious predecessors. In short, the city is like no place on earth, a city of immense blessings.
This programme will highlight the many virtues the City of Light holds, and remind Muslims how important the city is in Islam. In particular, the webinar will look at the following subject areas:
Brief outline of topics covered:
- Yathrib to Tayba
- The Prophet’s ﷺ appearance in al-Madina
- The historical development of the Masjid
- The superiority of the Masjid
