Often, the term Rizq is understood as material provisions in the form of money, food and so on. However, there is a deeper much greater concept of Rizq in Islam. So, what does ‘Rizq’ really mean?
In times of financial insecurities where the cost of living continues to rise, and the struggles of people around the world increases, it’s important to remember that our Rizq, provisions, and sustenance, has been determined and guaranteed. However, by increasing our understanding and knowledge of Rizq and how Allah provides for us, we can hope to find contentment, satisfaction, serenity, and ways we can increase our Rizq; Inshaa Allah!

Shaykh Dr. Abu Ibrahim has a PhD in law, specialising in Islamic Family Law. He also has a Masters in Islamic studies and has completed his Alim course. He has written academic papers published by both Cambridge and Oxford University. The Shaykh is an Imam and Khateeb and delivers Islamic lectures throughout the UK. He regularly works with Muslim charities, community organisations, and educational institutions including Islamic Societies (ISocs).
