About this Event
Musa (AS) “The One Who Conversed with Allah”
Musa (AS) is among the Ulu’l azm Prophets, the Greatest Prophets chosen by Allah SWT, and is described in the Qur’an as having been bestowed with determination and perseverance. The Qur’an chronicles Musa’s (AS) life in great detail – in fact he is mentioned more in the Qur’an than any other individual or Prophet.
Musa’s (AS) incredible life, in its entirety, epitomises the perpetual struggle and conflict between truth and falsehood, the struggle with tyrants and oppressors, and the victory of the believer.
“Do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you… They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger… said, “When is the help of Allah?” “Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near” – Al Qur’an – Surah Al-Baqarah 2:214
The points that will be covered are:
- Who was Musa (AS)
- Musa (AS) at a young age
- Pharaoh and Musa (AS)
- Musa (AS) and his people
- The trials and calamities
- Exodus and splitting of the sea
- Implementing lessons today from his life.
As human beings, our general understanding of life is that of struggles and difficulties. Sometimes we find ourselves lost and find it hard to get any direction or guidance.
Our Prophets in Islam gave us extraordinary insights and equally extraordinary lessons on how we can respond to our difficulties. The teachings from the life of Prophet Musa (AS) or the important lessons from the life of Prophet Nuh (AS), the trials of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the miracles of Prophet Isa (AS) are the pathways that will not only help us face difficulties with ease, but will also help us attain productivity in our lives as Muslims.
